Per your request, here with is a short report of the investigation you assigned to Oliver Orenstein and Ime pertaining to sweeteners. As you probably already know, The Coca-Cola cCo.,mpany and Pepsi cCo , Inc., market many drinks using sweeteners that are new to the market. Totally awesome!

Coca-Cola brought out Sprite Green, a reduced -calorie soft drink that contains Trivia., Wwhich it considers a natural sweetener because it is derived from an herb. The initial launch focused on locations, and events oriented to teenagers, and young adults. According to inside information obthained byt Ollie and I obtained, this product was tested on the shelfves of grocery’ies, mass merchants, and convenience stores in 5 cities’ in Florida cities.

Pepsi cCo. has its own version of the herbal sweetener, howeverbut it was developed in collaboration with gGreen eEarth sSweetener cCo. It’s called Pure Via. The for products that contained the sweetener were 3 flavors of zero- calories SoBe Life water. It may also be used in an orange-juice drink with half the calories and sugar of orange juice,. aAnother new sweetener is Nectresses, marketed by Splenda. It comes from the monk fruit., Wwhich has been cultivated for century’ies, and only recently rediscovered as a source of natural sweets.

BTWy the way, approval by the fFood and dDrug aAdministration did not materialize automatically for these new sweeteners. FDA approval was an issues because studies conducted in the early 1990s suggested that there were possible adverse health effects from the use of stevia-based products. However, the herb has been approvinged for use in 12 countries.

Both company’ies eventually received FDA approval and their products are already on the market. We cannot submit our full report until October 15.
