Health care associated infections are one of the most common complications that occur during hospitalization. The most prevalent complication related to health care during hospitalization is Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP). Nurses in critical care units have used evidence based practice approaches to help minimize and prevent VAP in mechanical ventilated patients. Utilizing evidence based practice its will help to reduce morbidity, mortality, and health care costs related from VAP.
