Moment Resisting Frames (MRF) have higher ductility compared to other frames, hence; Tthey are used to in low and mid-rise buildings. But high ductility leads to decreased stiffness. Increasing section sizes of members to control lateral deflections would not be economical. The combination of these systems with reinforced concrete (RC) shear walls increases ductility and reduces section sizes of members. This system hadoes not have appropriate flexural behavior, and ductility decreases. Reduced ductility will be caused improper performance of structural behavior in the case of a strong earthquake. Accordingly, several researchers have been working on several methods to increase ductility and dissipation of energy under moderate/strong earthquakes.
