Samuel Langhorne Clemens was born November 30th 1835, in Florida, Missouri., and Better-knownis better known by his pen name, Mark Twain. TwainHe grew up in Hannibal. Heand was one of seven children. Throughout, centurieshistory, authors usehave used pen names for the purposepurposes of disguising their gender or to shieldanonymously shielding themselves from the community. Samuel Clemens didn’t appear to use Mark Twain for those purposes, however. Twain was a novelist, short story writer, and journalist, and among one ofranks among the greatest figures ofin American literature. Due, to his father’s death offrom pneumonia, his mother was left to raise the children single-handed, which causeresulted in the kids being sent out to work at a young age. Twain gained his first experiencedexperience in writing when he went to work for a local newspaper company owned by his brother. His mother may have beenplayed a part ofin his career of writing career also.; As,when he was a young boy, she was a greatnoted storyteller and narrator. While, working with his brother at the newspaper company, heTwain sometimes editedcomposed and printed stories in the paper.
