After all the trashing out of their unhappiness and feeling about the issues, I asked them to talk about how did the conflict havehad happened, making sure that only the cause ifof the conflict reasonsconflict/reasons that will be talkingtalked about, not involving any personal feeling by asking why? When'why'?, when analysing is in the process. Being the mediator, I have to make sure that the analysing period willdoes not lose control, as emotion feelingemotional feelings always tendstend to be involved in such situationsituations. As the mediator, I throw out some questions to them, for examplesexample, what is it you want, and expect? How did anger have make you to have the dispute? HaveHad you thought of the outcome, before running after the person and screaming at each other’s helps? Haveother? Had you thought of how the other parties feel?party feels? After the conflict beingis trashed out, what arewill your expectation?expectations be? Will your proposepurpose be achieved? What is the best solutionssolution to this conflicts? Me onconflict? For my part, I need to use active listening skill so asskills, in order to understand both sidesides of their concerns, and their perspective pointrespective points of viewsview. After the analysing of the situation, both parties are willing to express their emotions, come out with thean agreement on a mutual understanding, and are willing to compromise. So that, the problem can be solved with the new understanding of each other, in a correct manner.
By having to analyse the conflict situation, it will help to loosen the tension between both parties. Helping them to understand, and to reflect on why their anger have lossesmade them lose control. MeI, as the mediator, help them to interpretsinterpret and summarise their feelingfeelings, and their understanding towardsof the problem.
