You ask me what I value most about Columbia,; here’s the thing: I am not sure. I do not know whether I appreciate its atypical curriculum, which teaches students how to excel in a variety of courses, or if I value its diverse student body, which helps them learn new cultures and acceptunderstand different mindsets. Perhaps its choice of enrolledenrolling bright minds and world-class leaders, whether writers, scientists, andor scholars. Maybe I value its ideal location and how it is in the heart of one of the most pretentiousprestigious cities in the world. I cannot seem to choose one thing! You see, I have not visited Columbia (since itit's 10,503 km away from my home),; nevertheless, Columbia has thatthe kind of energy that I am sure I will not perceiveexperience in any other school. I have dreamt of reaching 116th Street and having the doors of the subway open unveilingopening to unveil “COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY” in immense white and navy tilestile. I have dreamt of spending late nights at the infamousfamous Butler Library, cramming for a test (that I would rue procrastinating ). I have imagined sitting in Havemeyer 309 lecture hall, where many Hollywood movies have shot scenes that were in films such as Spiderman, Ghostbusters, and Mona Lisa's Smile, and drawing inspiration from them. I have dreamt of hanging out with friends in the quad and all the memories I will make there throughout the next couple ofcoming years. You ask me what I value most about Columbia, and I do not know whether to tell you ifthat it is itsthe awe-inspiring academics or the fact that I cannot imagine myself anywhere else.
