SUMMARY: The amount of energy coming from the sun that reaches the face of the Earth corresponds, close to ten thousand times the global energy demand. This form of energy is one of the most important technologies for the development of a sustainable planet. The generation of electricity through light is through the use of photovoltaic cells, the main component being a semiconductor, which when grouped into modules or panels make up the solar photovoltaic panels. In Brazil, sunshine is more than 3000 hours a year, being the country with the highest rate of solar irradiation in the world. However, less than 1% of energy is produced through photovoltaic solar systems. The present work has as objective the comparative study between a fixed solar photovoltaic plate and one with mobile tracking by means of an arduino, encouraging its implantation and divulging its benefits. A photovoltaic solar tracker is a device that directs a photovoltaic solar panel towards the sunlight so that these systems can capture more solar energy. This tracker lowers the angle of incidence between the solar rays and the photovoltaic solar panel, by means of sensors that detect the best position for a certain time of day, in order to increase its efficiency.
