The Giver’s Relationship
Jonas’Jonas’s relationship with ‘’The Giver’’ changed"The Giver" changes from enigmatic to mature and level-headed when they both agree that being ‘released’"released" is wrong and disruptive. ConsideringThey realize that mistakes are being made and thesethat these innocent babies/babies, and other people, are being released for nothing at least not ano legitimate reason. In the beginning Jonas is ‘happy’ "happy," but in this community they have no color. theyThey use words that describe what they are feeling in a sense of whichthat doesn’t exactly say they have emotions. theyThey describe them as if they arewere in a depressed state, but without the sadness. itIt is mostly confusion mixed ininto the emotions, as in love. The story starts with the ceremony of turning 12, which indicates what they'retheir future will be. This ceremony must haverequires their undivided attention for the importance of the community. This is the beginning of where "The Giver" and Jonas's relationship start outstarts.
