Poetry has been around for centuries; it is a form of writing that can be expressed by feelings or ideas in numerous types of styles and poetic devices. “She walksWalks in beauty,”Beauty” by George Gordon, Lord Byron,(Lord Byron) is a poem that is in fascinated poetic devices. Lord Byron writeswas a romantic poet of the Romantic time. He writes this poem using alliteration and imagery to describe the women he sees as beauty. The poem “The passionate shepherdPassionate Shepherd to his loveHis Love,” by Christopher Marlowe is a poem written in the Renaissance era known for pastoral and lyric poems. Christopher wrote this poem throughusing imagery to describe the woman that he is willing to live with and love. Author Stein states in her review of “The passionate shepherd” states thatPassionate Shepherd”, “In marked contrast to Christopher Marlowe’s plays about heroes and kings, this lyric poem purports to be the words of a shepherd speaking to his beloved. It’s simple, musical language, and dreamlike imagery creates an idyll of innocent love.” (Stein). The two poems discuss the theme of love, and the poets explore that through imagery.
