The position of the Laissez - Faire held that private property owners, such as lumber and mining companies, must be allowed to do anything they want. The conservationist movement, led by Theodore Roosevelt and his close ally George Bird Grinnell, was deeply concerned about the wastagewaste and destruction that was taking place at the hands of the free market, which includesincluded logging and hunting (Laissez – Faire approach). it caused to the land, leading in much less than a centuryThis led to a huge number of game species in the US being on the verge of extinction in much less than a century. They noted that the bulk of natural resources in the West already belonged to the federal government. In 1887, Roosevelt and Grinnell formed the Boone and Crockett Club to accomplish this mission. The club consisted of the best minds and influential men (Anonymous, 2010a, b).
