LaBrandon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m originally from Denver, Colorado. I grew up in a family of incredible cooks. My family owned a restaurant there since the late 70s. My family is from Texas
, so you know we had some serious BBQ. StartedI started working at an early age. I learned fast what hard work was working with my dad. Till this day, the work ethic I developed then has stuck with me now.

I feel like acting chose me in so many ways. I had no interest in it early on. I did a talent show my senior year doing a Steve Urkel skit and had fun with it. I ended up going to college at UNLV where I really discovered my love of acting. I decided to move to LA after graduation and pursue my passion.

Fast forward several years later and after many failed auditions
., I found some success with getting roles on “Queen of the South”, “The Walking Dead”, “Triple Nine” and HBO’s “Confirmation”.

Has it been a smooth road?
It absolutely hasn’t been a walk in the park on this road. When I
lovedleft Los Angeles at age 22, I had 700 dollars (laughs). I was so young and dumb at the time. I ended up couch surfing and sleeping in my car for so long, it became the norm for me. I constantly struggled with the financial aspect of supporting myself and my dream. For someone who isn’t rich, moving to LA is the hardest thing you can do. There were so many times I just wanted to throw in the towel.
