We used independent student’s-test'Student's' t Test and one-way ANOVA to compare the mean value of B2MG in different groups of age, PSA, and Gleason's score. Multivariate Cox proportional hazard models were used for risk estimation of PSA rising following B2MG concentration changes adjusted for other possibly effective factors, including; age, PSA, and Gleason's score. Hazard function at mean of covariates was used to show the cumulative hazard of PSA rising in 5 years.
. However, the results were not statistically significant in other risk groups. The cumulative hazard of PSA rising in 5 years in low, intermediate and high risk patients is showed in figure 2.
The correlation between PSA before surgery and the consequent PSA rising was also
assessed. The Chi-square test showed a significant correlation between these two variables (p-value
<0.001).
In the following, we assessed the Changes in B2MG levels in patients with positive bone scan in comparison with negative bone scan adjusted for the effect of age in table 6.
Β2MG levels in patients with positive bone scan were not significantly different from those with negative bone scan in none of the risk groups.
The risk of BCR is insignificant in the low risk group and high in the high risk group. But the prediction of BCR is difficult in the intermediate risk group . B2MG can be helpful in this group, as well as in the low risk group, which is usually not receivedreceiving adjuvant therapy. The positive aspects of this study were strict conditions for inclusion and exclusion criteria and excellent follow up. There are some limitations in our study. Each retrospective study may be subject to bias.
Due to the simplicity and low cost of the B2MG test, we recommend this test to predict high risk patients. Considering the androgen dependency of B2MG, aan RCT for evaluation Ofof ADT in low risk and moderate risk groups with high B2MG is suggestiblesuggested.
