The role of resiliencyresilience in the relationship between disability and quality of life offor people with multiple sclerosis: mediation analysis
• There is no clear theoretical justification for the tested model (it is necessary before publishing the article).
• Depression control - depression is one of the most common symptoms of MS (its frequency in patients varies from 25% to 74%). It is also a symptom that significantly affects the quality of life. It would be worth checking this symptom. The Guy Hospital Scale of Neurological Disability used in the research is a good tool to measure disability
in people with multiple sclerosis. Nevertheless, it is a screening device and does not give a full picture of the severity of mood disorders. It would be worth to control such an important factor determining the patient's quality of life. Has the author / have the authors studied the severity of depression byusing any other tool?
• It seems to be a mistake to consider neurological and psychiatric symptoms (depression) together and include them in one category ofunder general neurological disability. The proposed model lacks isolation of depression. I think this is a serious mistake, which would be worth at least highlighting in the limitations of the study, and in the future it would be worth to think about extending the model.
• It would be valuable to refer the results toof the adaptation procesprocess to the illness. In Poland, the subject of resilience in the context of adaptation to MS was dealt with by Jagoda Różycka (Różycka, J. (2019)., Wyznaczniki wczesnej adaptacji do stwardnienia rozsianego. Polskie Forum Psychologiczne, 24 (3), 334–355). It would be valuable in the context of the application of the description ofto research. Research can also be used to create a model of "good" coping with a disease and to search for strengths exposed to serious chronic diseases.
