December 11th, 2021 – January 9th, 2022
In December 2021, the first edition of La Regionale -– Mostra d'arte della Svizzera italiana will take place in the exhibition spaces of Villa Ciani in Lugano.
La Regionale will be the first major group exhibition to bring together the work of artists from Ticino and Italian Grisons, with the aim of bringing a fresh look at the contemporary art scene in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. The exhibition will take place in the exhibition spaces of Villa Ciani from December 11th, 2021 to January 9th, 2022.
Participation toin La Regionale is open to artists from Italian-speaking Switzerland , of all generations, active in the visual arts.
Applicants should submit a dossier (max. 15 MB) including:
• Curriculum Vitaevitae
• Portfolio
• Detailed proposal of an existing work or series of works (complete with photographic material) or comprehensive design of one or more new works, available to be exhibited from December 11, 2021 to January 9, 2022 at La Regionale.
Admission criteria
Artists who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply:
• Proven strong ties with Italian-speaking Switzerland
• Proven artistic practice in the visual arts
• Only applications from artists who, taking into account their age and years of activity, regularly exhibit in cultural institutions and/or recognized art spaces will be considered.
