The Life of Laina Tafoya
At the age of 4, my father coached me on a t-ball team, our. Our name was “The Cubbies''"The Cubbies." We had two other coaches, my fathersfather's best friend David and our cousin Anthony. They each had kids on the team, Moises and Ryan. Moises became my best friend and to this day we are still close. Our parents became best friends and my 9 year old9-year-old sister was their godGod daughter after she was born. My sisters Nevaeh and Mariah moved up in softball and our parents continued to coach us. I played with my sisters until they had to move up to major league baseball and I had to move up to softball league.
In the second grade I moved to Rudolfo Anaya Elementary School. I continued to be best friends with Moises. I made lots of friends in second, Janessa, Cambria, Moises, Camile, and Madison. We have some fun times playing on the playground, passing notes, making fun of our ridiculously positive teacher, and pushing each other to talk to our crushes at the time. In fourth grade, I transferred to Horizon Academy West and met my friends Hailey, Asiah, Sofia, Anacelli, Aalyiah, Jimena, and John Michael. During this time, we were planning fake weddings for the couples and crushes during our recess. At the time it seemed cute, but now I think back and hit myself at how embarrassing we must have looked. I would laugh and come home to tell my favorite person and she would be confused because all she did was play tag and gossip with her girlfriends during her recess. My favorite person is Katrina and we have knownbeen around each other since she came out of the womb and I was a few months old.
