The unpredictable pandemic of twenty-nine wreaked havoc on the health and economic systems worldwide. Global economies suffered as they struggled to cope with all the ramifications induced by COVID-19. The economies of highly developed countries were severely affected. However, smaller developing nations, such as Belize, were the most affected. Developing nations had weak defense mechanisms to respond to unforeseen economic shocks. The paper aimed to uncover the impacts on small enterprises in Belize. The aim was to analyze scholarly secondary sources and compare and contrast data from various surveys across the studies. Collectively, the sources indicated that the impacts of the coronavirus were solely negative on the micro-enterprises of Belize. Significant findings revealed effects such as loss of income, employee reductions, decreased work hours and wages, and supply shortages. There was recurring proof that Belizean businesses were negatively affected. Given the findings of this study, Belizean entrepreneurs need to consider implementing technology in their businesses. Whether it’s digitization or e-commerce, they should invest in modern-day advances to improve business and be better prepared for any uncertain global events.
